4. Can you assemble the steel door and/or steel frame at our place?
Assembling the steel frame or steel door is no problem at all. We have a team of professionals throughout Europe who can expertly handle the assembly of the steel door. So you don’t have to worry about that. The installation of the steel door requires an angled and level recess. The installer also takes care of the delivery of the door and/or frame.
5. Can I install the steel door and/or steel facade myself?
Our steel interior doors are designed to be easily self-assembled by professionals or DIYers. For the installation of the steel door, a square and level-finished opening with enough “meat” for screw attachment is required. When using a steel pivot door, it must be checked beforehand whether it can be screwed into the floor due to underfloor heating. Download the installation manual for a steel hinged door below. If desired, we can install the steel doors and frames.
6. Can a steel door be installed in a wooden frame?
MetalWorxx’s steel doors with glass come with a slim steel frame. The steel frame can be easily installed in a wooden frame. We make the steel door and frame to fit the existing wooden frame. Then the steel frame can be screwed into the wooden frame, and the steel door can be hung in it. The advantage is that no demolition or repair work such as plastering is required.
7. What should I consider when buying black interior doors?
Industrial doors and black doors with glass come in many variations. Often, however, they are not steel doors but aluminum black doors or wooden black doors. The advantage of real steel is the extremely slim profile that is not possible with wood, for example. Wooden black doors have a wide profile, making the door less transparent and stylish. Another advantage of a steel door and steel interior is that it requires no maintenance. Therefore, when buying a black interior door, it is important to pay attention to whether it is a steel door or an alternative.
8. What is the difference between a steel door and an aluminum door?
Aluminum doors are a less qualitative alternative to steel doors. Steel is stronger than aluminum. Therefore, a steel door offers more durability than a black aluminum door. The black steel door has an extremely long lifespan. Due to the strength of steel, the steel frames have a much slimmer profile than aluminum doors or other alternative doors such as wooden profile doors. This makes the steel door sleeker and more stylish.
9. What dimensions are possible for a steel interior facade or steel door?
MetalWorxx’s steel facades and doors can be custom-made. You determine the size, the panel distribution, and the layout. There are maximum dimensions (width vs. height) for different types of steel doors. For larger dimensions, a thickened profile for the bars is used in some cases. This is the same thickness as the frame, making it almost unnoticeable. When calculating the price and the type of steel doors, it is indicated at what dimensions this applies.
Steel hinged door: max. 2200 x 1100mm, 2500 x 1000mm, or 3000 x 900mm.
Steel pivot door and steel sliding door: max. 2200 x 1400mm, 2500 x 1200mm, 2800 x 1100mm, or 3000 x 1000mm.
Fixed element: max. 2200 x 1500mm, 2500 x 1500mm, or 3000 x 1500mm.
Larger dimensions are available on request.
10. Is the steel door delivered with glass?
Yes, the steel door is delivered with glass, ready for installation. So there is no need to have a glazier set the glass separately. This makes the installation of the steel door easy. The steel door with glass is standard equipped with 3.3.1 safety glass. Steel frames with smoked glass, frosted glass, and other types of glass are also possible.
11. Is the steel door delivered with a steel frame?
A steel hinged door comes with a steel frame. Therefore, no wooden frame or another frame is needed. The steel frame with the steel door can be placed directly in the opening. A steel pivot door does not need a frame, so no wooden frame is needed. The pivot system is attached to the floor and ceiling. A steel sliding door also does not require a frame. The sliding system can be mounted on the wall or ceiling.
12. How should I measure the steel door or steel wall?
For measuring a frame, a total of six dimensions are needed. The opening in which the steel frame or steel door will be placed must be measured both horizontally and vertically in three places. Horizontally, measure the size from left to right at the bottom, in the middle, and at the top. Vertically, measure the size from top to bottom on the left, in the middle, and on the right.
13. Can I also order the steel door in another country and have it delivered?
We deliver our steel doors and steel walls to a large part of Europe. So if you are looking for a steel door in Germany, for example, that is not a problem. We also deliver the black steel doors in Germany and other European countries. If you want to know exactly what the possibilities are for placing a steel frame in Germany or another European country, please contact us.
14. What types of black steel doors can I choose from?
There are three types of steel doors: a pivot door, a hinged door, and a sliding door. With a steel sliding door and hinged door, you can usually choose between a single steel door or double steel doors. A steel hinged door is the most common door. A steel sliding door is very suitable for smaller spaces because it has no turning circle. A steel pivot door has a sleek and minimalist design because it does not require a frame. Perfect for the true design lover.
15. What panel distribution is possible with steel doors?
Black steel doors with glass are available in various panel distributions. You determine how the steel door with glass is divided. You can choose from a symmetrical or asymmetrical distribution, with many panels or with a few large panels. The steel door is produced according to your wishes.
16. I want a steel wall with glass. Is that possible?
Yes, it is definitely possible. When assembling the steel frame, you can choose from various elements. These can be easily connected to create an open, transparent glass wall with a steel profile. You can choose from fixed steel panels, a steel hinged door, a steel pivot door, and a steel sliding door. Double doors are also possible in almost all cases. With the glass wall, you can choose from various types of glass, including smoked glass and frosted glass.
17. What is a steel pivot door?
A steel pivot door is a door that rotates around a vertical axis. The pivot point is at the bottom and at the top of the door, just off the outer profile. The pivot system is attached to the floor and ceiling. In a door with a pivot hinge, no frame is used, as with a normal hinge. That makes the pivot system very suitable for a steel door with glass. The steel pivot door can rotate both inward and outward. When using a steel pivot door, it must be checked beforehand whether it can be screwed into the floor due to underfloor heating.
18. Is your steel door with glass only for indoors or also for outdoors?
MetalWorxx’s steel doors and steel walls are for indoor use only. The steel frames are not weather-resistant for outdoor use.
19. Are there other types of glass possible than clear glass?
Yes, that is certainly possible. In addition to the usual steel doors with glass (clear 33.1 safety glass), it is also possible, for example, to order steel doors with smoked glass, wired glass, or frosted glass. This is perfect for applications where more privacy is desired. You can indicate your choice when calculating the price.
20. Are black steel doors also available in other colors?
Black steel doors are trendy. But we also see an increasing shift to other colors, such as bronze steel doors and white steel doors. The advantage is the slim, stylish profile of steel doors. The standard colors are RAL 9011 Graphite Black, RAL 7021 Black Gray, RAL 9003 Signal White, and Bronze. Other colors are available on request.
